Hi all
Today i had been to doctor i am running my 23rd week and so far i have gained 5 Kgs , within 1 month i had gained 2.5 kgs , so doc advised me to control on carbohydrates which is good for the later part . Also i am on the higher weight side , so just wanted the other pals know about this , weight gain is one factor for preterm labour or BP in last months .

Hi Preethu, We both seem to sail on the same boat..I am also on my 23rd week and have been advised by the doctor to stay away from carbohydrates due to an excess weight gain of 4 lbs for avoiding the risk of High BP and Gestational Diabetes.....which was pretty difficult for me since I love rice but ever since I have started eating more of wheat breads and rotis I have noticed that I havent put on any extra weight. I think thats a wonderful way to stay healthy and not put on excess weight. So just stay away from white rice, white bread & pasta and substitute with rotis and wheat bread instead. Hope this helps!!!

thanks for the tip , i am trying to follow that one , atleast in the afternoon i prefer to eat rice , if i feel empty then i feel nauseated and very tired , hope i am able to control the weight .

hey guys.... all of us have started on the trip to weight gain i guess... but i figure its ok... infact recently my BP has started showing on the higher side... since i have a doctor at home (my husband) i didn't need to go far to ask what to do about it... i have started regular walks and taking less or no salt at all.... i 'm sure taht'll work... we shud be c areful since high BP is known to cause problems....

all the best... don't worry.... take care of urselves... everything will be fine... and do what everyone tell us- STAY HAPPY!!....

im in my 22nd wk n ive gained 6 kgs so far.dont know if its ok to gain this much so soon.i too gained 2 kgs this month but my doc dint say anyhting about it.i was 50 before conceiving n my height is 5'2\"; .do u think even i should control my diet.though i dont have any thing fried to eat n dont feel like having sweet too eat a lot of fruits n normal meals.
