Hi

My 5 month old son has had conjusted nose and has been coughing (dry cough) for the last 4 days. Our Ped. did not prescribe any medicine but asked to use Saline drops, keep him in up-right poisiton and use a cool mist humidifier. His congestion is much less not but in the mornings, he coughsvery badly and sometimes spits good amount of milk if he had a feed before.

Ped. had asked not to use any over the counter medicines. Is there something we can do to ease his coughing.
He gets all red in his face and his coughingreally bothers us.

Pls. help.

My son also had a same problem. Try to give him more fluids and ask your ped regarding nibuliser.If you give this his mucus in his chest will release quickly and his cough will gradually reduce.

Ask your ped about this.Otherwise place the humidifier in your child room,use saline drops and take him to the bath room aand make him to inhale the steam from the hot water.
