Hey Sue i am from August board saw ur msg reagrding sundal.I am absically from Tamil nadu so I know abt Sunadal.This is made with different kinds of peas each one is different.But i think u are talking of Black channa sundal as vblack channa is full of iron and is good for health.Tray this and tell me if u like.

Soak a cup of black channa in water for 4-6 hours.Pressure cook it for 2-3 whistles with little salt added..
Then in a tava add little oil mustard seeds,Toor dhal 1 spoon,Yellow chick peas 1 small spoon.Add a little of asafoetida since it helps in gas trouble cause d by these black channa.red chillies 2.Curry leaves.Once mustard splutters and all this gets fried add the cooked channa.mix it well and check the salt since we added little salt when pressure cooking u might need alittle more.Incase u want it to be spicy and u can add little chilli powder too.Take apice of coconut and grate it finely and mix it well and eat.
I eat this once a week atlest trying to increase but since i ahve gas trouble i dont wanna make that worse eating more of this.

thanx so much for your recipe of sundal- i tried it and it worked out fine. i added a little bit of chat masala to it also to give it that spicy taste... thanx again :)
