Anybody in US who has applied for Visitor visa for parents in South India(chennai consulate)

I heard there is a delay in processing, was wondering if anybody went thro' this. I applied for my parents on Dec 9th, the visa is yet to come and I am really worried.

so Just wanted to know ur experience(if u applied for same in Nov/Dec)

I am not in US, but i can totally understand your concern.
I was going through the same tension recently, while my parents were trying to come to my place in UK. Their tickets are booked for 26th Dec, an dtehy just got their VISA last week!!! where as i actually started teh process in Nov. This almost more than a month, i have been through real tension and being in 3rd trimester did teh matter worse. So much depression, mood swings (and hence fight with DH..:))...well finally everything is ok now and they will be flying as per their schedule.

I have heard that US embassy now-a-days have become all the more strict. but if it is for a valid reason, then they wont do much objection. Since your case will be a genuine case, i hope it will be easier fo ryour parents. i have also heard that Chennai embassy is better tahn some oteh rplace (liek Delhi and Calcutta!!!).
I am keeping my fingers crossed for you an dyour parenst and hope that they get it sorted out soon and smoothly (more important!!!).
