Hi Sumana,

I just went through a similar situation in that my inlaws went visiting their daughter for a couple of weeks, and I took that time to take advantage of the fact that Sahil's feeding can be made a singular affair. He has a bunch of high chair toys which he gets to play only while on his high chair. Plus the toy he loves the most is a spoon. I use four spoons at every feed, one each for the cereal, veggie, water and one which Sahil plays with. He kinda pretends he is feeding himself and then the spoons go on a rotation where he sometimes grabs onto one which he is being fed with.
Now that my inlaws are back for the next month, I still continue to feed Sahil alone, because this seems to work well for me.
All babies go through phases where they go off food, so just keep trying, add a new variation, try a Gerber fruit for a change, or some other variation.
Also, check for wet diapers - if that reduces drastically only then should you worry....else it might be just a phase.
Keep us posted.

Suni

Hi sumana..

Can understand u r worried..calling the nurse would help. I think babies realize the difference in home atmosphere isntantly. Will take time to get used to it.
Does he eat his solids well? if so u can give him solids /fruits and juices.
just try different food items and see which he likes..
U get pedialyte that keeps the baby from being dehydrated (in case he is not eating or drinking)
Try making it less/ more warm..anu liked warm milk before now likes room temp milk does't drink otherwise..
all trial and error..try everything u know..or try giving yogurt maybe..
did ur MIL feed him everyday before?
babies get used to routines...
TRy to play with him a lot, get in a nice mood and then distract him and feed him..and pray it does work. I am out of solutions..
I hope the others have solutions.
Do update...i am sure he will be fine in 2-3 days , need a lot of patience though..take care..
Love
Radhika

Hi Radhika,

Thanks for all those solutions will try to follow. As u said need a lot of patience , thats one thing I am running out of.
He does not even eat solids properly.Actually I used to feed him even when my mil was here. But the only thing was that she used to distract him while having his solids.
Anyway just hope it is a phase....and he gets out of it soon.

bye,
sumana
