Hi if you want to give some amount of freedom to your child i would tell you to put him or her in CBSE or State board so that they get some time to do some extra activities.

Hi Shree, both the syllabus are tough if the kid is not able to cope up with the kind of education system they have. If your child is able to easily grasp the syllabus he or she can easily manage.

Well you have heard right but if you frame it properly it is not tough it is just a lil more informative than CBSE. ICSE board is very nice and you should consider it but yes the students of that board do have to study a lil more.

Yes the ICSE syllabus is a little more challenging than the CBSE board but then if you think about the future the kids with the most benefit are the ones from ICSE board because they are used o high quality studies.

Hello Shree,
Yes it is when both are compared ICSE is more tough than CBSE so you have to chose the syllabus based on your child capacity so that there would not be any problem for kids to read.I wish you would chose accordingly.

Hello Shree,
Generally when compared ICSE and CBSE,CBSE would be some what hard since olden days but as of now also it would be the same criteria when comparison is done between both the syllabus. So it depends on parents will they afford the fee structure for their children to join in particular schools.

hi sree, i guess u r in Bangalore and this is a strange phenomenon we see here... wonder why every one is after CBSE and considering ICSE bad. I had my schooling in a CBSE school, n not in bangalore... those days we used to compare with the ICSE kids... they had lesser homework than we did and sounded knowledgeable. but thts just from the looks anyway. i think both have their merits n demerits. icse, as far as what i know, gets tougher as u reach middle school n high school... but the basement laid (in primary) is strong, with not as much work load as in CBSE. CBSE is kinda uniform workload all through. this is what i feel... but do enquuire well before u choose a syllabus... n dont get carried away by the common prejudices
good luck
