Due Date Club August 2007:my updates

Name: KT Hi all,
This is my 37th week running.
My due date was on 21st Aug. In my last scan the Dr told me that the weight of the baby is 2.5kg and the head is not fixed.The date that was estimated at the time of scan was now 16th Aug.
I am undergoing the treatment of Gestational diabetes and now urine infection is also detected in my urine test report.So taking IV for this.
My GD is under control and now my physician wants that I should get the baby delivered in the 1st week of Aug. She discussed this with my gyno too. My gyno said she will wait till the 38th week.I am quite nervous.
One thing is confirm that i will deliver the baby by C-section.
Let see whats happens....

hi KT,
i also have GD. wht treatment r u undergoing for that? did u get insulin? was the urine infection related to GD? why does ur physician want the delivery in 1st wk of aug?

sorry for asking so many ques. i am 32 wks now.

Hi,
Yes I am taking insulin, and yes the urine infection is also related to GD.

Regarding GD and urine infection I asked doc that I am taking all the precaution told by you and taking care of my hygine and cleanliness then how I got this urine infection, she told me this is not in your hands, it happens during preg, and since the sugar level is higher, the bacterial growth is very fast.

She told me that for the GD patients they do not wait till the due date. If everything is under control, they induce labor accordingly which is safe for both baby and mother and there are no comlications later.

When is your due date, where are you from? are you also taking insulin, if yes then how many units?
My advice to you is do lot of walking (15 minutes for 5 times atleast).
This is help you control your GT.
