Waiting to try:First baby by ivf.Should i try again?

Dear friends,
I am a regular visiter to this wonderful website and some times do join in but mostly i am silent reader.I have a strange query.I had tried for ivf in 2001 and successfully gave birth a daughter born in 2002.I had some frozen embroyos which have to be used by june this year or else it will be destroyed.(That is the rule in singapore, where i live.they keep frozen embroyos only for 5 years)So the question is should i try for second time round?.I am 39 years and if i conceive i will be 40 when the baby is born.I will be grateful if u all give opinions which will help me decide.
thanks a lot in advance.
best wishes and lots of baby dust for all.
Suman

Hi ni,
yes i can give some info on ivf.I tried ivf 3 times here in singapore and 3rd time was successful.IVF can be very expensive depending on where u stay.Do u stay in india?I think it is cheaper to do it in india. In singapore it costs around S$6000 per attempt. It is not very painful and any discomfort is only temporary. But it is worth it when u finally have the baby.hope my input was helpful.best of luck.

Hi Suman,
I think u should try for a baby only if u really want one. As u get older, not only is conception and pregnancy tough, it is also tougher to raise a baby as u may not have the kind of stamina that u would have earlier. And I'm sure u know that there are risks of abnormalities involved if a woman over 35 concieves. Don't mean to sound so negative dear. But this is a big decision and requires a lot of thought.
Love,
Meena
