How are you doing?

As usual I need your advice. With God's grace I am 14w5d. During my last visit, I requested the doctor if I could have an ultrasound at 16th week because it was the same time when I lost my earlier baby. Although it was not medically necessary, they have scheduled one for my peace of mind during week 16. After that there is a level II ultrasound scheduled for week 19.

Questions:
- I have had two quick ultrasounds so far. How safe is it to have two more?
- Instead of the ultrasound on week 16, is it better to just request heart beat check for that week and wait for level II on week 19.

I would greatly appreciate your advice. Your practical advice is always helpful.

Aarti,
There are no known threats of ultrasound so don't worry on frequency. For high risk patient the frequency can be increased up to one per month/per four weeks.

I think to do bpp or doppler to assure heart rate is your choice. Either are good. Although both are not necessary, either or them will keep your mind at an ease. If an ultrasound is scheduled then go for it because you will get to see your baby as a bonus.
