Dear Ammy,
I am a little upset on your rush, I am serious about this sentence.

Remember you are pregnant and you should keep things as calm as possible if not for you then for developing baby.

One rule in USA is that technicians or Radiologists are not supposed to discuss ultrasound report with patient. They will show that report to a duty Dr. or head Dr. of the department in the hospital, if really something concerning the Dr. on duty or Head will inform you but not necessarily they will. The most they can do to expedite situation is by giving call to you OB of emergency. Otherwise normal practice include sending a fax of your reports to your Dr. You are kind of lucky to get to see report before your OB.

Besides above mentioned points you or any body who does not know the subject is not supposed to understand meaning of medical terms and not intended to interpret either.

I am aware of the fact that while pregnant even tiny trivial thing matters and worries and perhaps this is why radiologist are not supposed to handle data to patient and transmit directly to your OB.

To me except placenta position all looks fantastic. Your fetus is on higher side with reference to weight but that's a good news not to worry too much, limit your sweet intakes.

The placenta will move upward in coming weeks and I recommend you to repeat ultrasound to confirm placenta positions/functions between 34 and 37th week.

Your fetus is developing very fine.

No, usually you are not going to get the length of fetus, although it's possible it's not major point to be considered when heart, kidney, femur length and growth in general fits to expected pattern.

keep faith in God and remember to discuss with Dr. before getting worried. Your Dr. is equally concerned about all pregnancies and will inform you immediately if there is any emergency expected.

I had to be strong to avoid any such un-necessary worry from your side in future.

Take care.
Archie

Dear Archie,
Thanks a lots for your reply, it really made me to think in positive way. Even I dont understand what came on me yesterday morning which made me to act stupid. And by yesterday evening I was was bit calm and was able to make out what mistake I have made.
Archie, after reading your message I am more relaxed and clam now. I did meet my gync in evening yesterday, even she said me the same thing about the Placenta and said the everything is fine. Will be meeting her after a month now.
I really have to cut down the sweet.. before pregnancy even the sight of sweet made me to go away from it. But the condition is reverse now. In my family all my in-laws eat lots of sweet, when my MIL came to know that I am carving for sweet she was very happy and is ready to prepare anykind of sweet that I can eat. Now for next 2 month I am going to be alone who will be cooking so I think I can control it...
Thanks again Archie for your reply and will surely try to be in control of myself. U have guided my mom-to-be in this site... and I am sure to follow ur guidence.

Bye

Dear Ammy,

Im not an expert but i can help you with certain things:
BPD = Bi-Parietal Diameter
HDC = Head Circumference
FL = Femoral Length
AC = Abdomen Circumference

All the above are Foetal Biometric Parameters. I have referred to my US and gvn the explanations.

AGA seems to be the gestational age that indicates which week u r in.
And your EDD is 4th Dec. (expectd delivery date)

Dont worry , report appears normal. Hope you can talk to you gynac soon.

Love Rids

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
