I am trying to figure out the most boring song or bhajan to bore Anoushka to sleep !! I remember we had one history teacher once when he would walk into the class - we would all be yawning and become too sleepy . I wish he could give some tips ;-)to me .

Hi Ritu,

It is amazing you mention that.....Sahil's magic song to soothe and sleep is "Aate aate aa gaye paas hum..." from Chori Chori starring Ajay Devgan and Rani Mukherjee....it is an immediate effect on him, he smiles and coos and settles into sleep mode.
We have CDs' with just this song on it for the car!
As long as my little fella is a happy camper, I will listen to the song!

Hi manvi..

IF babies do sleep on their own, moms are lucky. Anu sleeps at night at around 8/8:30 but she is dead tired playing thru'out the day, hardly naps during hte day even if she does is for 10 mins. Sleeps once her feeding (breastfed) is done at night. She knows when she goes to her room, humidfier noise and dim lights, its time to sleep. Tried bottle too..so basically she needs to be sucking and dozes off.
She has got up once a while excited seeing the blinds or light coming thru it, i let her play by herself, don't talk much, she ends up giving her cry of ok i want to sleep..and feeds and sleeps back.
Have read a lot about teaching babies to sleep on their own, mostly everyone say have the same atmosphere, everyday at same time or maybe sing or say the same thing. Maybe u can try just walking around with him instead of playing with toys before he goes to bed so he calms down..or anything that he is quietly watching. Once its sleep time, if u don't talk as much as day time even if he is excited, think they will know its not play time any more.
As u say, i think babies respond to routine schedule really well...so same time going to bed may help..it is exhausting though to take care of babies the whole day..i am sure u will find some way out.Take care.

Hi Manvi,

Previously, Sahil used to go to bed by 7 p.m.....after we started solids, he takes a nap at around 6 wakes up in a half hour or so then has his dinner, plays and it is back to bed around 8:30 or 9. His evening play involves half an hour in his Jumperoo, he absolutely loves it and it is a continuous laugh time for us, and I do jump with him at times....ofcourse I have nowhere near the energy of my Energizer Bunny. This physical exercise gets him tired and pretty sleepy, so he will get some milk into him and go to sleep, I use the Bedtime Lotion from Johnson's for him in the evening, all that lavender fragrance is real soothing atleast for me, I dont know about Sahil....when he is around 3/4 asleep, I lay him on his bed and he sleeps, or sometimes I selfishly cling to him much after he is asleep in my arms, all depends on how my day was.
Try an evening bath and creaming routine, it has helped for me.

Take Care
