Due Date Club October 2003:Question on Cereals

Hi Everyone,

I am so happy to see a few old members bouncing back on to the board. Welcome Back, Anu!! You must have had a great time in India, I hope it was a wonderful vacation.
Radhika, I am sure your parents are watching over you and the baby. Always think of it like having two guardian angels, and cherish the good times you have shared. Also, you should make a scrap book for your daughter to remember her grandparents by, she will be counting on you to get to know them.
I was wondering if the baby's intake of milk reduces once we put them on cereals, veggies and fruits. The reason I ask is I want to stop pumping and needed a plan to phase it out.

Take Care
Suni

Thanks suni for kind words. Anu did reduce one feeding, but then at times drinks a lot in one feed..so i wouldn't say stop pumping, have kids who when they go to 6-7 months hate formula and like breastmilk..once its reduced, takes a lot of effort to get it back..i did reduce the times of pumping at work but do get same amount one ounces less or more..some days but its still ok..since i was anyway 50% formula and 50% breastmilk. Breastmilk does help when they are sick, stomach ache etc..so if u are getting enof i would say continue pumping u can reduce frequency of pumping.
Cereals do fill them up but still 80% of food intake is milk..
Take care.
Radhika
