Radhika, I was not alone in the flight. While going to India, my parents were there and also my husband. While coming back, in-laws and husband. Both the times we were four to take care of Sid. God, I cannot imagine me being alone travelling with 4 month old baby to India.

Hi friends

Our group is really becoming inactive these days. Our little ones keep us too busy.
I started rice cereal last week & she just hated it. When i bring the spoon close to her mouth, she holds her lips so tight. I have to sing something to make her mouth open, & then only i can put something in, & then she will start crying. So i stopped after trying for 4 days. Today I started again, but same results. Now i mixed it with grean beans and it was little better, initially i was trying with formula or breastmilk. it takes half an hour for 2 spoons of cereal.
Do share your experience about introducing solids.

PS: Anu, I have read not to give butter/ghee etc. now, basically no fats.

Hi

Wow...cannot imagine me being alone with anu on flight..congrats anu for making it :) U guys both lucky to have inlaws and parents with u..actually babies are luckier to have two grandpas and grandmas...but then maybe my parents are always taking care of her from above :)...anyway wanted anu to get used to indian food along with readymade food here..so was wondering if ur parents had any suggestions of what and how to give them at what month..
If u give dal...are some dals better than other so do we choose between mung/arhar_toor/etc..assuming give mung dal (heard a lot about it)..
uma/ritu/bargavi/nikki/nick/manvi/sweta/kalyani...do update when u get time.
Take care
Radhika

Hi Suni,Radhika and All:

I went for India trip and came back this saturday. As I was busy in India could not browse much. Thought I will ge to see lot of messages as I am on vacation. But felt very bad this monring when i broswed this site at work as our group is slowly becoming inactive.

Sid did well on Flight and entire trip. Had good India trip. My parents went back and now in-laws came along with us.

Sid is entirely on Breast milk and formula. From today I will start cereal to him. My MIL was telling that we can give mashed rice with dal ka pani or mashed rice with ghee. I am planning to give cereal first and after some time mashed rice.

other than that, how is Anu and Sahil doing ? Have they started crawling. Sid is rolling over and trying to move a head but he is not able to. He is doing as if he is swimming. And after some time he starts crying and we need to put him on back. He loves his swing and happy with his Grandma. That's about him.

Do update about your babies and keep in touch.

Anu

Hi Radhika,

Seems like only us working moms browse the site from our workplaces. I dont know too much about Indian baby foods, since I am going to use jarred food. Infact, next week Sahil will be six months old and I plan to start him on cereal. In a couple of weeks, I will also introduce fruits and veggies. I chose Earth's Best brand since it is organic. I completely chickened out on formula, though I do hope to do it soon.
My parents left last weekend and my inlaws have arrived. Sahil took to them very well and we had a good transition.
Hopefully, more will join the board back!

Suni
