Many here say how submissive they are in handling inlaws. I have a question, How do you people behave with your friends and if working, with coworkers ? Are you submissive there too, do you just listen to others orders, take all criticism, do hardwork while others behave like smart workers ? My whole personality itself is submissive. Even at office, everybody dumps work on me and go home early while I stay late though married and have got responsibilities. This is my case. What about others ? I have tried my best to be assertive and say \";No\"; when I have to say \";No\";. Sometimes some people turn from nowhere and become friends. They speak with sugar coated words and get all work done and say all bad things about you behind you. How do you tackle such chalu people ? Seema replied. I am also a working lady. If any is trying to take advantage of ur's or taking lot of work from you, tell ur boss the whole story.
Colleagues who are taking ur advantage tell them also why don't u finish this work why u r giving me. If you can't do then talk to boss if it will come through him then only i will do. I cant do on personal basis. Tommorow it can come to me.
Your colleagues will not come through there boss for work. Because boss will come to know about their reality.
So Don't just work hard ..work smartly. No Name replied. If you are saying everyone behaves similarly with you ... Have you checked if you are lacking something !
Confronting ILs etc may not be so easy as hubbies are involved and many of us hate fights at home. But in office you shouldnt be submissive ! I think its in ur personality thats why ppl take advantage of that !
Many times a strict NO may not help .. then you will called a bad person. You too should talk sweetly and say NO with a big smile on face !
Pls explain more .. when you say dump you with work ? whose work ?? do they ask you to do their work ?
Give few examples may be we can help you better...
