Hi Ruchika,

I have also been strongly advised by a cousin who had a baby last year not to scratch at all, as these apparently appear as stretch marks later. I know it sounds scary as we have all keeping scratching ourselves sometimes or the other.

In terms of a cream I was anyhow using Body Shop's cocoa butter as it is winters here and weather is very dry in Australia. But I have recently switched to a cream specifically meant for stretch marks and have bought Palmer's cocoa butter formula from a pharmacy. This besides having cocoa butter and vit e also has something called collagen and elastin which helps the skin retain it's elsticity and moisture as it expands and apparently reduces stretch marks better .

Take Care..

Hey guys, I was told that normally these strech marks show up after the delivery (when the skin unstreches)but was told to use the cocoa butter and VitE oil now so as to reduce the number of strechmarks we will see later on. Have you heard something similar? or have seen strech marks already?

I was planning to go buy the butter this weekend and start using it cause my tummy itches too (not so frequently yet)......

but I am doomed cause my mom has a lot of strechmarks and so does the rest of the women in my family.

Well, it's all for the little one so that's alright. Our moms did it for us and we will do it for our kids.......

Take Care and a Happy Friday to all......Have a great weekend.

Try vitamin E oil or Palmer's Cocoa Butter. Both should be available at the pharmacy (walgreen's or any other).

Hi Ruchika

I have itching sensation on my tummy too. I have been strongly advised not to scratch, because it may leave permanent marks. Try vitamin oil or cocoa butter, even simple moisturizing cream works very well. I apply it twice a day and its given me a lot of relief. Also, try not to bath with soap bars, as they usually make skin very dry. Use body wash with moisturizer instead.

Hope this helps.. take care
Vandana.

No no its not that late, even I started like a week before, I am in my 22nd week. Just start as soon as possible so that your skin doesnt tear and it will help you to sleep better at night;-)

Hey Ruchika,
I too experienced the same itch all across my belly but then a friend suggested that I apply Cocoa butter cream over my belly as soon as I finish my bath...and let me tell u ..it really works. So try doing that and massage ur belly with the cream till ur skin absorbs it and only then wear ur clothes or else it gets wiped out. After bath application is the best...Hope this helps!!!

Ruchika,

Body Shop has an amazing moisturizing stick (cocoa butter) that you can carry in your purse and just skim over your tummy whnever you feel itchy. Has helped me so far.

Good luck!!

Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
