Hi my baby is 15 mnths old and he is nt speaking..he blabs a lt..he keeps saying mummma papa whne he is the mood...bt tht is not to call us...i read tht someone was saying i shd make him say om...he keeps doing that already. i talk a lot to him,..point out differenet things...make him watch cartoon shows etc...wht more can i do? shd i get worried already...or can i wait for some more time to see how he goes n may b then take him to the ped. i know babies who spk so much at his age. Mel replied. Turn off the TV and forget the cartoon shows. They are not needed for developing his language. You can get educational CDs meant for babies, but make sure not to let him sit in front of the TV for more than 20 or so mins in a day. Speak to him slowly and clearly. Speak one small sentence and pause as if waiting for a reply. Then whether he replies or not, proceed to the next sentence. And speak to other people in front of him. He will start speaking when he' s ready. He can probably understand a lot of words, but may try saying them later. He' s absolutely fine. Don' t worry. gun replied. problem is same here. my baby is 2year 1 month old. her all activity is good except speaking. she cathes many words but doesn' t use in speaking. same kids of her age talks very much. sometimes she talks one words and understanding very much but she prefers indicats more time for anything.i talk to her very much.but nothing ,i don' t know what' s happening. could any one suggest me? appysmom replied. my sil has a daughter who is 2.4 yrs old and has not yet started talking. she is beginning to say some words now. the doctor says it is ok. avoid talking about it when he is around. i am sure they understand... it will be difficult if they start feeling conscious about it. i have friends who spoke when they were two years old...and they are so very talkative now..:) so dont worry. he can sense your tension so relax and have a good time with him.
