I had posted a topic about severe rashes for my child.it turned out to be severe hives.hv been giving antihistamine for several days.can anyone pls suggest any home remedies?has anyone seen this in children?my child is 20 months old.

I live in Fremont and my phone number is 510-468-0449. Please call me tomm. Today I am out and may not answer your call. My husband's cousin brother's kid also had \";urticaria\";. Doctor said caused by Dhal Rice it seems. After discontinuing the dhal rice, it did not aggravate. Now she is applying coconut oil and moongdhal powder and kasthuri turmeric powder, the red rashes are slowly disappearing it seems. You can also try. We both wish you the very best of luck. We know how worried you and your hubby must be.

Hi Aditi,

First off, your baby does not suffer from sinus. I have the same problem with my baby(7 months) after returning from India on 20th Jan. For three weeks she had cold and cough and now she has a blocked nose with dry mucus. I will suggest solution to that later. Now for the rashes, stop all medications. Apply coconut oil and give her bath only with moongdhal powder and kasthuri turmeric powder. you can contact me and I can give you some to get you started with, and you can ask your relatives to send from India. When your baby wets her body & clothes, remove them promptly and apply moisturiser. What you see is mere heat rash(due to cold and fever she had) along with antibiotics & what not. Try giving her lots of fluids, keep her comfortably dressed. feel her trunk to know if she is hot, warm or cold and dress her accordingly. Do not wrap her. Hope this helps.
