I had been reading all the msgs good to hear about babies :-) Pranav will be 4 months in another 1 week, has anyone already started with solids , which is the best one to begin with .also how about juices , i have started to give him water less than a ounce .He is having his shots tomrorow , hope he will feel fine .

Rice cereal is highly recommended when you start giving solids. My doctor has asked me to start from four months, I can't wait to give her solids as she doesn't feed well.

I was planning on starting solids from the fifth month onward,after checking with the doc ofcourse..
Some of my friends started cereal (blended) when their babies were 3.5 months itself and some of the babies liked it.. If the baby pushes it out, then he/she is not ready yet...
From what I know, from 5th month onward you can feed them cereals (best to start off with) and then you can give them blended vegies and fruits..(sweet potato, carrots, squash are good)...
You can give pranav some prune juice once he is 4 months old (good for digestion)...I was planning on doing it too...I am unsure about other juices..

Do check with the doc though...and let us know what he/she says...
Cause diff docs have different views on starting solids..(like Jaya's doc)
