Name: Rashmi
I am a distressed mother and going through hell at this time.
My daughter Baby Aarushi Arora who was recently
admitted to Mothers Pride School (in Noida) one of the so called prestigious schools of
Delhi is hospitalised due to the complete negligence of the school authorities.
On August 13, 2007 I got a call from the school
branch coordinator Ms. Priya Beraria saying that she has been injured slightly and has been taken to the hospital after her finger came into the door. After reaching hospital I was told by the doctor that the finger is almost chopped and they will have to do grafting of the finger by plastic surgery.
After five hours of profuse bleeding an operation
was conducted on my child' s finger but the doctor' s are still not sure whether the finger would be fully recovered or not and if this happens to my child then a child who was born normally will always be a handicapped.
Despite my repeated requests to the school
authorities that please pay due attention to the child as she is new to the environment this is what has happened. The child is currently in Kailash Hospital and we cannot do anything except WAIT !!!
I am the mother of the child and nobody from the
school has bothered to tell me about how she got injured so badly.
When my child was admitted to the school I was told that between the school timings i.e. from 10 - 1 p.m. two teachers and one maid would always be there and she would not be left even for a single moment.
The School authorities has done so called needful
from their end by taking the child to the hospital and by giving us the suggestion that if
we need anything they can dole out some money to us.
I want to know why Government doesn' t have any regulatory authority for playschools and if such accidents happen then what is the action against them.
I have taken up this issue with the media and the school' s reaction to this matter is that it was an accident and it happens often with children.
My child is too young to tell me whether it was an accident or her teacher was there with her. Had the teacher been there this would not have happenend.
As psoted earlier also teachers have far more children than they can handle and its dangerous for our children and I really do not know what we should do.
If somebody has any suggestion please do let me know.
