First of all congratulations and good luck. I just recently had a baby in november and my mom and my grandma told me to eat lots of methi. couple of my friends told me to drink lots of milk too. As far as about latching is concern baby will learn itself. My daughter would not take my breast for almost a week after she was born but everytime before feeding i used to try breast and after a week later she was used to it. Takecare. Feed your baby as many times as possible, say every two hours.
As soon as you finish feeding, drink a glass of water.
All this will help in constant milk supply. Seema replied. There is nothing u can do to increse ur milk production during pregnancy and don't even try because it can be dangerous for the baby. After the baby is born, u can eat lots of 'jeera' aka cumin seeds. Add to all of the indian dishes. ADD LOTS OF IT- 4-5 times more than u normally would. Fennel seeds(Saunf) and fenugreek(methi) seeds r also good. Pump ur milk to increase the flow, but only do this if ur production is low.
