Nurseries and Schools:Working mothers - need advice

Hi,

Need advice from working mothers - we normally spent around 9-10 hours everyday at office while our kids hardly spent about 5-6 hours at school. In a nuclear family, what are the options available for working parents to keep their kids safe after school? i have heard of after school day care that has come up - any other options. I am based out of Chennai, so any Chennai specific pointers would be of great help.

Hi Minnu,

I think you' re based in Velachery if I remember correctly. if not , sorry !

I think most people use the after school programs in most daycare/playschools . I visited Bamboola in RA Puram and found they have very interesting activities and nice open spaces. The only thing I didn' t like is that food has to prepared and given from home and they will reheat in a micro and give . My son is too young for it now. But definitely worth considering.

Also Marg Playschool in Velachery has a after school program which includes some activities like dance, shlokas and abacus program etc.

There is one thing in Adyar - Parent' s choice. i have heard that to be quite good from my collegues, but little costly..

Therez a school called Primrose after Palavakkam in Chennai who give After School Care. There are other schools but I am not very sure of the name. Try out some real good Creches who take care the kids till u back. There is one in Nungambakkam Bragadambal street. Check out
