Speech:Concerned abt my daughter development

Hi
My daughter is very naughty and playfull. She keeps climbing anything she can hold on to. Soft/ chairs. We do not discourage her since she will feel bad or it can affect her mentally. but a lot of time she plays so fast that she falls down from the sofa or chair , sometimes she falls on her head hitting the floor, we have put carpets.

Does this action can affect her development. She is 17 months and still does not show any interest in speaking , though she can understand us well now. She speak maa mmaa maa when she wants to but not when we ask her to

please advise me.

Hi venkii,
My daughter is also 17mo2wks old.She also does exactly the same as your daughter does and she also doesn' t show interest in speaking. She just only says two words Bye and Bua.But her pediatrician wants to speak her 20-30 word by the she completed 18months and she is nowhere close to it,so am just little worried.I also do live in US and many of kids i know around me spoke late,so it gives me some relief. In home we speak our motertounge but in TV they listen english so sometime i wonder that could be the reason of delay speech bcoz the might get confused.
Pls share how u r planning to encourage her for speaking?
Thanks.

there are many educational dvd' s available in the market.... you could see those along with your daughter and try to repeat those words...
you could try the baby einstein series to begin with... they have good visuals and will keep your little one occupied for a while...

Speech/language delay - 2.3 yr old boy
Hello Everyone

Our 28 months old boy is not speaking simple 2 or 3 word sentences yet. He speaks a few words such as mama, papa, aunty etc but definitely not more than 10. Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. Shoranur kerala samajam Ayurveda hospital review
Hi All,

My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
