Due Date Club November 2003:Travelling tips ???

Hi Girls,

How r u all ? Hope everyone is doing fine & enjoying with ur little one. My doll is doing great. I'm going to India in the last week of this month so right now i'm very confused 'bout what things i should take with me...Can u pls help me in making the list of most important things. Also i'm very worried 'bout Flying with Eesha coz she is just 5 months old by that time so if u can give me some travelling tips it would be a great help for me. I've 2-3 questions inn my mind which is bothering me a lot..

1. Should i take stroller with me or buy snuggli for travel coz i'm going with my hubby but he is coming back early & i'm coming back a month later so at that time i would be travelling alone with Eeshu & she would be 8 month old by that time.

2. The 2nd concern is 'bout diapers. Because i'm going for almost 3 months so should i take the whole supply of diapers with me or i can buy from there too. Is there any difference in quality of diapers in India & here..

3. And what type of medication i should take with me for my daughter ?

I'm very confused girls..pls help me out & if u think 'bout something else which is very important pls let me know. Pls help me in making list for travelling...

Thanks..
khushi

Hi Khushi. Lovely to hear you are taking Eeshu to India. Have a lovely trip.
Well, from my experience with my first one, take paracetamol or equivalent of that what they give for little babies there with you to India. The doctors there tend to give antibiotics or stronger medication, whereas here in UK we only give paracetamol, be it for fever, cold, teething etc. So take few of those and try not to experiment with strong medication. Always use boiled water for washing feeding bottles and plates, which I guess is pretty standard but in India be extra particular.
Stroller don't get used much but if you are going somewhere where there is a park etc you could take Eeshu for walks, then surely stroller would come in handy.
Also, if you are planning to start weening Eeshu on food, stock some readymade bottles for times when you visit guests as you may not be able to feed her boiled stuff travelling etc like home. Hope this helps.
Enjoy your visit.

Hey Kushi, good to hear from you.... Wow!!!!! Eesha is 5 months old already...good to hear she is doing well..

I could be wrong, but From what i've heard the diapers in India are not of good quality and they do get the pampers brand but in specialty stores and they are quite expensive. Moreover, their availability depends on the city you are going to stay in...
i know quite a few people with babies who've asked people visiting to bring a bunch of pampers with em'..

Since you will be staying there for 3 months,.. my suggestion would be for you take a few diapers from here with you for use occasionally (travelling within India, visiting people etc), use cloth diapers whenever possible and try Indian brand too and see if Eeshu likes em'... cause I am sure babies in India use them, so they cant be too bad......

Good luck and Have lots oF Fun in India...

Diaper Service Provider,Bangalore
Hi,
Does anyone know if there is a Diaper Service Provider in Bangalore? They generally provide cloth diapers and replace them with a new set every 2-3 days.

Thanks in advance
