Hi beautiful ladies!!!!

I just wanted to know which is the position you follow to sleep...caz I am finding it very difficult to sleep...I was told to sleep sideways on my felt, but after a while the left side of my body starts aching...I was also told not to sleep flat as this will prevent the transfer of nutrients to the baby...lemme know how you ladies are managing and please...i wat some tips.....

hi!! i' ve been a silent member of this team for sometime. i too face the same problem at night. not able to sleep for long hours on my left and if i sleep on my back my abdomen starts aching slightly. so now trying to sleep with a pillow between my legs. which helps in relaxing. also reduces leg pain.

I was going to post this same query on the board today and Veena u made things easier. I' m facing this same problem every night. Cannot sleep on my back as it suffocates me, I have breathing problem when I sleep on my back. When I sleep on the right side, I think the baby is always somewhere on that side and I feel uncomfortable. The best position for me is sleeping on the left. But just like u guys said, my left arm and side gets numb sleeping on that side whole night.

Like Riya suggested sleeping with a pillow on the back and on ur left side helps somewhat, atleast for a while until u change ur position. But yes, no more calm and relaxed sleep for us anymore. This is just the beginning, just imagine when our tummys start growing bigger how are we going to manage on the bed? Its a real test.

But these are some memorable experiences of pregnancy w' ll get used to it after few months. But ya, sleep on ur left as far as possible as thats the best position.

hi veena

i' ve been going through the same dilemma.. when u sleep sideways on your left, try stuffing a pillow lightly at the back and tuck it into your left side.. i find some relief in this till i turn again.. then i have to repeat the whole drill again.. and by that time i am half awake.. i think sleep is pretty much going to evade us from now till the baby is a year old at least.. so we better get used to it..

there are a lot of benefits sleeping on the left side.. so try your level best to do so..

Hey Riya and Madhu,

Thanks girls! for wrtin in

Guess you are right, no matter how comfy we try and make ourselves, sleep is definately going to evade us for the next few months to come...and not a wink when the lil one arrives.....till this point I loved my lil naps so much and wouldnt let anything get into the way of treating myself with this simple luxury....I guess I am paying a price for all those times I wouldnt compromise a thing for those siestas.....will try your left side pillow trick to give me some relif...cheers!!!
