Hi,
Sorry for being away for so long.Just that my baby is so demanding&I have been busy with my work too.I had a few questions which I keep forgetting to clear with the dr's/LACT CONSULTANTS.
1.for formula my Pediatrician is so cool&says use just tap water no need to boil. But I microwave plain water for a few secs to make it warm? How r all of u doing this?
2.Iam using Avent bottles for feeding just wanted to know can we microwave plain water in these?I know we must never microwave milk for the baby.
3.I have started pumping breast milk for rainy days so want to know can i freeze milk pumped on 3 consecutive dys together in 1 bottle.EACH TIME I PUMP I REFRIGERATE FOR A FEW HRS&THEN ADD THE COLD MILK TO THE FROZEN ONE.HOW R U DOING THIS?
4.Anyone having problems with baby rash?My baby has got seborrhea&his soft skin looks so red&rough now!
I hope to post a detailed mssg soon as I have some interviews coming up soon&am busy.Love ot all the babies&hope all of u are doing great.
Thanks,
Manvi.

hi manvi

Advice given and understood by me is milk to be mixed should be both of same temp. so i fu have fresh milk should be mixed with milk if u have another bottle of fresh milk..
if u have two bottles of milk, say one kept y'day and in ref and today 's milk kept in ref for a few hrs so both in same temp then u can mix and then freeze or use them..
freezer u cannot mix anyway..do not mix fresh milk with milk in ref..
do not mix ref milk with freezer...and do not get milk older than 2 days and mix with fresh milk ..
hope its clear..keep in mind whenever u mix milk temp should be same and should be milk pumped in consecutive days..
I hope i am right but thats what i understood. u can confirm with lactation consultant.
Take care..

Hi Manvi,

Hope you and Siddarth are doing well...for the frozen milk, if you intend to use a bottle/bag of frozen milk say tomorrow, then move it from the freezer to the fridge today. It will then be ready for use tomorrow. Do not mix thawed milk to frozen milk, that is the mantra.
For regularly pumped milk, just move it to the storage bag/bottle and place it in the fridge...it can be used safely within the next seven days.
If the milk is from a freezer kept exclusively for only breast milk, then it can be used for six months.
If the milk is from a freezer used with other stuff, use it within the next month(since the door is opened frequently)
What I do is this...pump milk and use it the next day, everytime I think there is some excess quantity, I date it and then move it to a freezer bought exclusively for breast milk...
Mixing milk from different pumping sessions of the same day is ok. Do not mix milk seperated by a 24 hour range or more.
I use Avent bottles and the Avent sterlizer. Works like a charm.
I use Johnsons bedtime bath and head and body bath products for the bath, after which I put Johnsons baby lotion on him. I use Conair lotion warmer so that the lotion being applied is not cold. You get this at Bed Bath and Beyond. Touch Wood, but until now no rashes or dandruff for him. Do check the linen you are using for your baby...if he is sharing your bed at any time of the day, you want to be very careful that neither you nor your spouse have dandruff or any skin conditions. Better to place them in their own cribs with sheets washed every other day and lap pads changed daily.
Hope this helps. Do say hello to your mom for me.

Suni

Nice to hear from u.
I advice not to mix milk from diff pumping sessions. Buy the milk storage Bags. Thats what I did, now I dont store them in fridge since I have 2 hungry ones waiting to be fed.
Also dont use microwave for anything. Just use hot water in thermos. I use filtered water and then boil and cool it
Since u use Avent, buy Avent Microwave sterliser, its god sent for me.
Reg rashes and dandruff, mom uses coconut oil and besan and turmeric for bath. It seems to be working well.
Gluck with ur int

Long time..glad to know u are doing fine..
trying to answer a few ques.
1) for formula use, i boil water and keep in thermos and use it, since its only for one feeding whenever she is ready formula is ready.
NOt so sure of microwave since many people say not microwave because it doesn't heat up evenly so thot same would be with water.
2. Don't think u can /should microwave bottles.
3. I am also adding breastmilk like u do, pump in two diff bottles of diff times refrigerate and add them to sealed bags to the freezer.
4. Rashes i have no idea, my baby has red spots doc said aren't rashes baby skin is like this. comes and goes.
All the best for ur interview.
Take care...Keep in touch.
Hi to ur little one.
Radhika
