hi archie,
i have a ques about it. these are over the counter. why do dr recommend it to some babies only. i have seen that many people were told by dr and then i found that their develpment has increased. agree to the fact that it gives all the imp vitamins and stuffs, but then to some babies only vit a and d are given !
i had this case as case study, her baby boy was 9 months old. he didnt even sit by himself or with support. dr advicd him vit a and d. agree to the fact that d is good for bones and so is a for good health. but wat my ques is, doesnt he need multivitamin with iron which has both the vit a and d as well. this baby growth was really low, and i think he needs more than just vit a and d !
this is part of my study in primary care, so i was interested in asking you.please do reply.
and my last query, since this is over the counter, even though my dr has not recommended it for nirja, can i give herr these, or ask dr ????????? i was concerned because whenever she has this teething pain, her diet goes completely to formula or milk,,no food at all. she drinks well though. so far she has 4 teeth, and is right now teething with other 2 side teeth and both the corner sharp teeths.she gave me hard time today.so m concerned if this can be of any help to me.
Regards,

archie thanx for the case. also i saw that in the multivitamin drops the vitd is 100% and A is just 60% which means prob the ones with a and d is having both 100% ! and i m stuck in this badly.
sweety, yesday at my visit to store, i got polyvisol with iron, its enfimil brand..m waiting for my nurse to give me call back about these drops.
seema, nirja all reports are normal. i tried all her fav in soupy texture by sippy cup she didnt take it at all.
i m hoping that dr says yes for these drops or if they can be helpful somehow.
bye take care.love to kidds..thanx.
chal bye, take care.
archie replied. hetal,
I am not expert in pediatric aspect but I think seating and standing is a milestone that has lot to do with bone density and vitD is great for that. Vit A also supports other aspects than just boosting streghten bone, for example visual functions.
I think the baby is not seating well and his ped might just want to see if it's bone strength and thus not totally multivitamins, besides all growth of baby will be compensated by providing multivitamins in purified form, it has lot to do with genetics of baby and food and habits that his parents have put.
while teething baby can be moody and tuff to chew on solids so it's fine if nirja only drinks fluids on this time. some babies don't give hard time or parents don't notice when the baby got teeth, unlike others who have to go throug a lot, some get fever, pain in body, cry baby, loose motions, indigestion all is associated with teething.

i'm wondering too ..y some ped recommend. when hrish had his 1 week appointment that time dr asked to start tri-vi-sol(not with iron) and i started to give him...which i got over the counter.
once i coudnt find this then i called dr and asked that they dont hav this hav only poly-vi-sol. but krish didnt like it ...taste and smell so bad of pysol.
actually they said u need to continue it..when he takes like 12-14 oz of formula per day then u dont need to give. i gave till 9 months..now not.
i asked one ofmy frnd ..she gaved her son too(our ped was same)
ok then
love to nirja
seema replied. hey hetal, just make sure she is not malnutritioned. her weight and all test are ok, then its fine. when nishu was teething, he too was totally on liquids but he didnt want to eat anything that he had to chew.i used to give him watery or khichadi soup so that he gets enough.all in bottle.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

HI Gayathri,
I used the puzzles, the wooden blocks for alphabets and numbers.... - Sheetal [View Message]
try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
