Nurseries and Schools:When should he start school?

My Kav is now 2.3 years and goes to playschool. I am very confused whether he can start LKG next year June or only the following year. He wil be 3.2 years only next June and most good schools will admit kids who have completed 3.6 yrs only. Some only look for 3 yrs completion.

So what should I do? He loves going to playschool now and is a smart kid.

Hi Ramya
Where are you based? My son is right now 3.6 but schools in Blore did not take him in LKG. The age reqmt here is 3 years 9months completed to get into LKG. So he goes to PreKG. It seems kids are asked to repeat one year in case they are underaged when they reach std I.Find out more before you can decide.

Thanks Indu. I am in Chennai, and here too the cut off for the majority of the school is 3.6 yrs for lkg (chotta schools give concession though).

My dilemma is because my son has been going to playschool from the time he was 2.20 yrs. So he has to go playschool again this year, and pre school next year before gettin to kindergarden. Seems like a long roadmap :). But your point is valid and the question is what´ s the hurry anyway?!
