Hey guys....I know a lot of us have to return to work/school soon... and I was wondering what you guys are planning to do regarding baby care (if you've made any plans)...

I have to get back to school this month :(
my mom will be here till march and I have no idea what hubby and I will do for two months after that(I have to be in school till may).....

There are quite a few day care centers (in the bay area atleast) that take in babies from months onward...but am so not comfortable with the idea of day care so early on.... :(

Any suggestions/input?????????

Hi avi and simmi,
Good to hear that your babies are doing well. My mom is here at the moment but she will be going back by feb.I am very scared to leave the baby with daycare since i don't know how it wil be in bangalore. Also my company said they cannot extend my leave so am planning to quit.Also how are you guys going to manage if you are breast feeding the baby.How do you switch over to formula?

Hi Avi. Happy New Year. Hope Nikhil is settling with his sleeping routine. Glad u have ur mum to help u out and hope u r getting enough sleep. I sure am struggling with two. My mil is not comfortable with little babies so apart from occassional playing with the baby, I have to take charge of everything. Quite exhausted without much sleep!! Shreya has rash on the face but has learnt to smile and tries to respond when spoken to, so it is quite exciting to watch her blossom!
About day care, I can relate to ur anxiety as I have gone through it myself. I left Shaleen at day care nursery when she was 4mths and she was there till this Christmas. She starts school next week, but all this time I have felt that day care was better than giving her to a baby sitter. Day care has children of babies age and more than one person is incharge, so there is more safety as they don't get overtired for ur baby. Well, it is tough and emotional but if it has to be done, keep faith that you are not doing anything unfair to the baby as baby won't know that u have gone back to college, don't feel guilty and start with two hrs a day for some days before u start uni so that u can cope with being without the baby for a while and you can even spend time at the day care while the baby gets used to the place.

Hey Avi. I too miss our regular daily chats. Hoping to getting back to them soon.
Well, about day care, it was really tough but I don't regret it one bit now since the baby gets to interact with other similar age babies and starts enjoying the routine too n ur own time becomes quality time and u enjoy it more. Of course, nothing like having the baby with u all the time but if you do have to leave the baby for some time, try focus on the positive things and you will be able to cope better.
I will be leaving Shreya with day care too but not until after summer since I have decided to take unpaid extented leave. Hoping for the best.
I'm sure Nikhil will settle well in day care, it is the mommies who need to settle more...all the best.

Hi Simmi, good to hear from you and hope you had fun on christmas and New Years Eve...
Good to hear that shreya is doing well...looks like most of our little ones have the rash...I am sure it will go away soon....

Thanks for your reassuring message about day care.. just thinking about makes me dread the day..it must have been quite hard on u to leave Shaleen there....
u r right about day care being a better option than hiring a baby sitter....

I will have to start looking into them pretty soon....

I hope all else is going great for you out there.... I miss our everyday conversations... I hope for us to be more in touch once the babies have settled down....
