I hope every one is fine and enjoying time with ur little ones. Have a question on daiper rash cream. Do we need to use the cream evern before baby gets the rash (prevent rash)or is it to reduce the rash.

I use Desitin Creamy as a rule with every diaper change. I apply a liberal dose of Desitin to the entire area covered by the diaper, front and back. Ofcourse, you first want to wipe away any moisture that might be there. Regular use of Desitin will prevent diaper rash. My SIL who is a neo-natologist says that a diaper rash is one of the most painful things a baby can get and has advised me to do this to prevent it. I hope this helps.

Suni Manvi replied. I was real cool abt diaper rash bcos I thought by immediately changing a wet diaper I wld never have to face the problem.
But I got a scare the other day when I noticed my little one's butt had 2 red spots.From then I have been airing him for an hr or two during the day& applied desitin cream to that area.It has cleared up very well now.
I feel since your baby doesn't have any rash currently just try to air dry him daily for a while.Usually when u feel he may be in a soiled diaper for long (like nites when u r going to sleep)just apply a li'l bit of desitin cream to the groin folds&the underside of his butt to avoid him sitting in moisture for long.
So far this is working for me,let's see what others have to say.
