I've a two year old daughter. I've been married for almost 3 yrs. I don't want a second baby. Firstly because, I'd a lot of complications inmy first pregnancy due to which I'd to leave my job. Secondly, I feel I should give the best to my child which wil not be possible if the second child arrives. Also during my first preganancy, my mil was not very supportive. I was doing household work even my situation was critical before or after delivery. Now I feel, if I carry second time, who will look after my daughter. Since I'm 33 years old, my mil wants me to go in for second pregnancy, I don't want a second child at all, how should I make her understand this. I've often told her clearly but it shows noeffect on my mil. My hubby wants a second child but says I would not let this happen till u give your consent because a kid of an unwanted preganancy would be a nusiance to handle.

Please help how I make my mil understand. I'm adamant about not having a second child so please don't give suggestion about company for the first child. She goes to play group.

Married to Indian replied. It is YOUR body and YOUR wish. It is NOT your mother in law's say about it. Do not worry. Tell her no, and that is that! emma replied. I'm not quite sure what a mil is. But it's your body and if you don't wish to have another child don't. I the excact same problem with my partner. We have one beautiful child together and i have a lot of time and energy for her yet i feel if we have more children i won't have so much time and energy. He wasn't here for the pregnancy or birth or the first few months of her life so he doesn't realise how hard it was though i doubt even if he was he would understand. Having a complicated pregnancy would of made the situation worse can you not explain to your husband how hard it was and the reasons you don't want to.
