Hi,

Does anyone have any idea if antidepressant like effexor or laxapro is safe to take for sometime, for social anxiety. Do these drugs taken for a little while cure you? And do they make you gain weight? Any feedback will be greatly appreciated as I'm not sure whether to start it or not? I feel uncomfortable in public and start acting weird. This is disrupting my life a lot. So, my doctor prescribed these meds but I read some message boards and found out that these medications make you fat other than other side effects. Please send me your feedbacks.

I am also suffering from s.a.Don't think drugs will help you.whatever things bother you & you are afraid of just ignore.Listen to soothing music,do yoga.If you are not able to do something,dont get upset,think you can do it.nobody is perfect.Think what your loved one says about you.BE positive,don't fight yourself.you can't get insant result but within few months you will be able to feel the difference as I am feeling now.Be happy.If you want to share your thougts let me know,we will exchange our mail ids.All the best.
