I have cold/fever for the past couple of days.

I live in Bangalore and my Gyn has prescribed Cetzine 10mg for 5 days and crocin for 3 days.

Are these safe. I am 15 weeks pregnant and expecting my first baby in Jan 2006. Also does cold/fever in mother affects the baby at this stage.

Hi sujatha

according to my doctor and also as per information available on site regarding safe medication paracitamol(crocin) is safe during PG.
Even i think cetzine is for allergy.
Anyways before thaking medication confirm with ur doc about effects on baby.
It wud be good if u could avoid it.
I too had very bad cough..doc gave sporidex. i twice confirmed taht its safe to take but still i did not take it.
trying to manage with vicks, and home remedies.

Subject:  Cetzine for allergy



Hi Sujatha,

I am not a doctor. But when I was in Bangalore last year, my son's pediatrician had prescribed Cetzine (Cetirizine HCL) as an allergy medication. If you are able to alleviate the cold symptoms by other means - inhalation of plain steam or rubbing some Vicks, that might be better.

I don't know the chemical name of crocin. Here in the US my OB/GYN says it is okay to consume any medicine with acetaminophen.

My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. hi! everyone my baby boy is 2yrs 3months i took up a job in which i come home for lunch and he is at home with maid only for 4 hrs sometimes 6 hrs 1st everything was ok but now he is becoming angrier day by day refuses to eat and throws evrything he can lay his hands i am worried abt him as i hav a contract can' t leave for another 11months but he just don' t listen pls he... - jigs [View Message]
