Have any of you pierced your baby's ears? Where did you get it done? Were you able to change the earrings after the piercing and put on indian ear rings? My pediatrician does not do it, and she suggested that i take tanvi to the mall. Pls share your experiences at the mall if you've had any.

My daughter was 5 months old when we decided to get her ear pierced. The non medical ear piercing options are painful and unsafe with possibilities of hepatitis, viruses and even HIV and I can never recommend it. My husband and I were looking for a safe, modern, gun shot piercing option which is completely safe, pain-free and with a traditional touch as well.

I finally ended up at Dr. Patil’s ear piercing clinic in Bangalore. It turned out to be a wise decision. I enjoyed professional services with a personal touch at Dr. Patil’s clinic, quite commendable!

We got her ears pierced last week in the mall..it just took ouple of minutes..but she was crying just looking at the lady who was trying to do that..but later on she was fine and we gave her some tylenol and she was happy...They gave a antiseptic lotion to clean her ears 2 times a day..and the pierced earrings should be kept untill 6 to 8 weks and then u can change them..so good luck to u..

Hi Jayashree, I got Ritika's ear pierced on Memorial day. Her pediatrician doesnt do it. We got it done at a Novelty store, in a mall. Its like a button press.. so got to choose their studd ear ring. Which is very cute. They asked us not to change her ear studds atleast for 2 months. They gave us an antiseptic solution to apply 3 times a day. Touch wood she didnt get any ear rash or anything. Next day i had her 4 month appt with her doc, she too had a look.

She cried for 10 mins, but later on became fine. You can check in malls near by to your house. Indian jeweler they dont do it. Have a look in your area. Btw where do you live?? I am in San Jose, California.

Ok Take care. All the best with the ear piercing.

RV, I did check out the July board...thx for pointing that out to me.
Ramya, I live in Florida. I took her to the Piercing Pagoda when she was 2 mths old....they said to come back after 2 more months. I'd be so much happier if i could find a paed who'd do it 'coz that way, I'll be sure that all the equipment being used is sterile and hygienic. Iam not worried about the pain 'coz iam sure at this age, she'll forget it real quick...and at my place in india we get it pierced when the baby is 28 days old. Well, I'll take her back to the mall this weekend and let u know how it goes.
