I recently bought a microwave idli steamer around $20 with free Shipping !! @ w w w . perfectpeninsula . c o m
It is very useful and conveient.
It is quick and easy to clean ..
Idli is moist when compared to making in a egg poucher.

Hi Kavisha,
There is no specific recipe for making idli in microwave.Just use the same dough that u normally use for making idli's in a cooker. The only thing u will need is a microwaveable idli stand.....its avialable in India for Rs.200 or so but in US its a bit costlier I think. And believe me its very very easy to use this stand to make idlis ...idlis r ready in 3mins and its not a very messy affair too.So go for it.Hope this helps.

Hi Kavisha,
U can get the microwaveable idli stand in any Indian grocery store in US.I think in Indian grocery store the cost of it is $15-$20.Yes, u can use egg poacher for making idlis, its a good idea, but I have not tried it myself .
bye,
Rohini
