Sunita replied. My daughter passed out last year from this school. I have not yet been able to decide if it was overall a good or bad but after reading these posts i want to share my views also. My daughter went to a homely-playschool in another city before joining ibambini prenursery. She stayed there for one year. But after one year my husband says he has not seen the child academically learning significantly more than the playschool. If we look at the file they have given us after the school ended, she has done almost same things as she did in playschool just that they were little more complex. The syllabus and newsletters they send are great. I tell my husband that at this age they dont look at academical learnings. But he says personality wise also my daughter hasnt picked much. And when i look at the concerns we told the school before joining were same as after leaving. While admission i had told that i wanted my dd to speak better english as in the house is our mother toungue. I had also said that my dd is shy and less confident in public.
I had also shared these points with the class teacher in parent-teacher meetings. But even today she has same issues. Now this can be a one of case or may not be a good example but i felt like sharing my views.
The swimming costume is compulsory for splash pools. But for some reason we could not buy it for my dd and so on her first pool-day i send her to school with everything else apart from swimming costume. I also acoompanied a letter to teacher with same request. But they did not allow her to go into pool and instead made her sit beside watching other kids. My dd loves going into water and was excited. For whole week we had been talking to her about her pool day and the kid was so anxious. But then on that day imagine the kid sitting and wathing others and she told me she cried then. In afternoon i called up school and they said rules are rules. I said madam i agree i udnerstand but why punish the kid for parents mistake? I said madam it is possible that parents had some serious reason and they could not buy. In such cases the school should say Ok we are letting i your child today as it was first time but make sure for next time and we wont allow this again. But they were just adamant. I told them : madam You were telling me during admission that ' a child speaks a hundred languages' and it is the main line for your school, cant you understand the very basic language my kid was speaking by CRYING seeing other children in pool? Then another incident happened when they were supposed to go for an outing. Kids are supposed to wear ibambini shirt and caps and icard. I wasnt well that morning so my mil sent dd to school in normal dress. By the time I went to tell mil, kid had just left by schoolbus. I told my hubby who took the dress and caught the bus on way to school and told the Helper and kid to inform classteacher about it and make the kid wear. After school my kid told me she did not go for educational-excursion and was made to sit with younger playschool kids in their class doing some drawing. I said to kid the Helper must have forgotten to tell classteacher. She said the Helper told teacher and I also told teacher. I was annoyed and I called up teacher. Guess what she said. She said she did see the dress in her bag but as my dd was wearing a Frock and not a pant/lowers, it would have looked funny wearing a TShirt over a frock! So we did not make her wear and did not take her for outing. I did not know i should laugh or cry. I agree not taking out a kid without a school-dress for safety reasons but when the dress is available i could not understand the point she told. Third thing. The work done by kids is put up on walls for seeing by other people who visit. I rarely saw my kids work like painting or pasting. I think they only paste work that looks good. On the last meeting with teacher she told me that your kid is good and her problem of shyness is little bit improved she has not started saying poems in class but is still shy and doesnt speak when people are unknown. Hello?
Somethings that i liked about the school is educational outings like going to ATM and the programs they conduct are well organized and disciplined.
Kalpita replied. When we were in pre-schools, the fees was so less. If we translate that to this time, it still wont be as high as the fees we have in todays preschools. Man! if i m paying 2500 or 5000 per month and in addition to that i am paying 15000 admission fees and spending even more on dress, bag, books and picnics I will have additional expectations from school.
A good playschool is the basic expectation of any parent. That goes without saying. We dont need to think or discuss on that point having said already that its a good school.
But if we are paying them such a good amount OR let me say they are charging so much means they are charging so much to ensure our kids get everything good. Good quality study, good quality environment and good quality services. And if someone is charging for that yet not providing it puts a question on everything.
It is accepted that its a good school. But i would give a second thought if there are service issues. Not because i dont want to maky my kid stronger but because she gets allergy due to heat.
So when someone tells me that Hey the school is good but i noticed something like this so check yourself. then that person has done his duty. The point may bother to some and may seem silly to some.
For rekha it might be shocking to think about such petty issues. For me it is serious. You should look at my kid when she gets the heat allergy and you will agree to me. And all i need to do is to go to school and make sure things are right, rather than just assuming its a good school so everything must be great. And if i find something not right, I am sure the school is good and will take care of my kid and the fans and keep her away from allergy.
Friends if someone has done her duty to tell lets appreciate it. If it applies to you fine. If it doesnt apply to you dont point fingers as that person has just done his duty and dont forget it doesnt matter to you means doesnt matter to everybody. There are people like me and Mini.
I have been reading these posts and I checked with the bambini staff. They agreed that they had problems with generators earlier and so fans in all rooms were not functioning. I would suggest mothers who think it was a silly point to do 1-2 km of jogging on a hot humid morning between 20 june to 20 aug and then sit in a hot room without a fan and then say that it was silly point at the rate of 2500Rs.
Dont forget that at the end of the day they are also professionals. They may be good but they charge us for everything so they are also supposed to provide the services. Otherwise when you go to a hotel and eat good food dont crib if it is not clean and service was not good and still food was so expensive. If you find hair in a 5 star hotels soup throw it away and drink the soup.

I agree to them. Some parents have told me great replies about iBambini and some were not really happy with child' s progress. The school is beautiful, their programs are great.
One thing i really liked about this school is their newsletters. I dont know if other schools also do it, but i liked when they started doing it.
They are sending weekly updates thru emails, which is great. It has pics and tells u what all ur kid learnt this week so that u can reherse it accordingly. Their processes are good too.
However, there is one more aspect.
Schools like iBambini are till pre-nursery/nursery and you would admit your kid to next school after that, and you would prefer to choose a school so that ur child remains their till 10th or 12th, right?
But such schools also may have playschool, prenursery etc and at equally good level.
You will have to pay those 1 time charges for exclusive pre-schools like ibambini which usually is not a small amount. And after 1-2 yrs you again pay 1 time charges when u admit kid in bigger school. So why not pay them once?
If you have already chosen schools in which u wd want to admit ur kid, then calculate which one would be cheaper and works out better for u. Consider that schools may revise their fee structure in 1-2 yrs.
As for mother' s pride, i hv been asking people but havent got any feedback that can be shared. Its quite new.

I dont mind of my kid steps in the pool in her undies. She was not even 4 yrs then. And i dont mind if my kid wears shirt on frock and goes out. For me, her going for educational outing is more imp than presentation. For me it is more imp to learn what is ATM and all, rather than anybody seeing what she is wearing. And if they are so worried about how i like my kid to go out, they can call me and ask. When I send shirt separately and ask them to make her wear, it says what i want. And then if they dont do it, its between them and me. I dint like what they did. You dont need to tell me what i should do and what not.

Dear Sunita,
While I am in no position to comment regarding the ´ progress in English etc.´ of your child, I dont think there was anything wrong that the school did in not allowing your child to get into the pool with her ´ normal´ clothes. All rules and regulations are made keeping our children´ s interest in mind only...Swimming costumes are meant to ensure hygiene in the pool as well allow the child to play ´ safely´ . Imagine if the child is wearing loose fitting clothes/frocks and playing in the pool...It could lead to any accident...which is why no pools allow people to jump in with their ´ normal´ clothes...Also changing into a swimming costume ensures hygiene, which would not be the case if all chiuldren were jumping in with their ´ normal wear clothes.´ Think we need to appreciate the school for standing up to their norms (which by the way, would not be the case in ´ smaller´ schools)...So as parents, lets take responsibility for our actions (in this case forgetfulness) rather than pointing fingers at what the school is not doing...it is for our children´ s good. As regards outings, i have been told by the staff that Tshirts and caps are compulsory for children, since it allows easy identification of them when they are in an outside area. It just might have made your child look funny to allow her to wear a t-shirt over a frock...am sure even you wouldnt have wanted that to happen. Think we should take responsibility for our actions and appreciate the school for standing up to their rules and regulations (keeping in mind our children´ s best interest)rather than pointing fingers.

Hi Nitee,
My son Etan passed out of ibambini this year and naturally, i was tempted to pitch in here. We have been very happy with the progress our son has made in the school. ibambini has a beautiful building, excellent facilities and vast green areas around. But what takes the cake is the sincerity and dedication of the staff that immediately put my child (and us!) at ease. They worked very hard with my son and the result shows! And yes, let me clarify, they DO HAVE A GENRATOR that is in operation during power cuts. But just relegating the debate of choosing preschools on this point was quite amusing!! It belittles the purpose of a playschool...Suggest you visit the school and check it out for yourself. And take YOUR call. All the best

Now that i have been clarifying, let me also throw light on this point.
How much does fan, cooler, ac matters to a parent is parent´ s choice. We all know that it matters a lot to some parents, and that there are many parents today who dont admit kid to a school if these things are not per their preferences. And their are others who believe child to face some struggle in life.
How much it matters to me, should not matter (I have still let my kid go to a school i assumed did not have fan in power cut, so this should indicate)!
I dont know if it matters to Nitee or not, but there are other parents who are visiting this board for knowing about preschools and may matter to them.
It was my duty to share my experiences and let the parent decide.

iBambini has/had fans and coolers when my kid was there. All rooms have fans, Teachers and daycare room has ACs and I have seen them well functioning.
For students classrooms, they have central cooling through coolers where cool air reaches through ducts and vents. When they are on, things are perfect and no issues.
The problem I noticed was during a POWER CUT. During power cut, the fan in room was not functioning. I had gone for a PTA meeting and those who have been there know that there are no seating arrangements for parents and have to wait for your turn at times. I was pregnant hence couldnt stand for long and went into another classroom to sit. This was in last summer, so hot that atleast I would prefer to have a FAN during POWER CUT.
As I have mentioned earlier, I am not sure if there is a problem, they said that that room was not operational which my hubby and me did not feel like believing, so I have asked Neeti to check out herself.
I had faced a similar problem once again. It was during the Dassera cultural prog when parents were invited. I happened to use a room that had AC and during power cut, the fans their were not operational.
May be they have fixed the problem now as I had shared the feedback with them.
So thats about it.
Overall, I have positive feedback about the school.
I had asked Nitee to visit the school as it is beautiful worth seeing, and then she can asks ques and decide herself, as someone has rightly mentioned - check out yourself rather than getting biased.
I really wanted to avoid getting into the discussion here as it appeared to be tending towards argument now. But it was regarding a kid and thats what made me click on reply. I understand we all are concerned about our kids so lets have a healthier discussion if possible and read carefully the messages to avoid misunderstandings and repetitions, confusions thereafter. May be this IS a healthy discussion and may be I am getting it wrong. I wish i were.
Take care & Good luck.

Going by your concern, it might be a good idea if you send your child directly to Kindergarten in a ´ big´ school...imagine the kind of money you would save by cutting out on this layer of ´ preschooling´ altogether. What you have said is correct. I too would be surprised if any mother puts the child directly in KG just to save money!
I would be putting my baby in a big school´ s Playschool and not KG as you have understood. This is a v good school as per the feedback collected.
I dont think people like us compromise with quality when it comes to kids. If iBambini costs me 2.5k per month, this big school is charging me 5k per month for the play school/nursery! But we have calculated the overall expenditure, and it comes out to be lesser than putting my baby into 2 schools. How? Thats a long story.
But I appreciate your point. I too would have suggested same if anybody puts kid to KG. Just that there was some misunderstanding so felt need to clarify.

I dont think Saheli has mentioned AC anywhere. She has asked for atleast fan availability and I think that is a wise demand.
Many parents today are keen on having AC for kids in school and even in schoolbus. I am one of them. Everybody has their opinion and choice.
I can compromise on not having cooler but I would agree with Saheli that atleast fan has to be there. Love and care and attending the kids is fine but staying for 2 hours in a hot room even without even a fan is something I dont want my kid to go through. These kids have physical activities so must be sweating. Atleast fan should be on.
My family has moved to Gurgaon from UK so it will take time for my kids to get used to the heat. Even if I want to teach them to bear heat, it will take time and I am sure nobody will suggest making them fall sick. I agree iBambini is good and was planning to put my little one there but now I need to check for cooler and fan availability. Thanks for sharing the information to saheli.

From iBambini itself. And now in heritage.
Have you visited ibambini? Do that if not. Have a tour of school before deciding.
If you decide on iBambini, and if you are keen on having fan/cooler while your kid is there, please check it clearly with them.
They have coolers. During power cuts, I wanted atleast fan to be there but the classroom in which I was sitting when i visited was not running fan during power cut. On asking, they said that that room was not operational or something like that.
I dont clearly remember the fee structure, but I guess we had paid some 15k during admission. 3k is security deposit which is refundable. Per month around 2.5k, and they have additional charges for functions etc. They have their tshirts caps I-cards bags. May be Radhika has detailed fee structure.
I wont be putting my second child in a play school like that as overall it costs me more to put kid in ibambini and then big school. So i will directly put kid in the big school´ s playschool. Its v near to my place and i dont need transportation.

Dear Saheli (assuming that´ s your real name),
Going by your concern, it might be a good idea if you send your child directly to Kindergarten in a ´ big´ school...imagine the kind of money you would save by cutting out on this layer of ´ preschooling´ altogether. This tender age of 1-4 years is when 50% of the child´ s intelligence develops (and its a well known fact)...It is upto us parents to provide the right kind of stimulus and environment to our kids to ensure they develop to their maximum potential...Whether we choose to provide the right environment (through a good preschool) or choose to save money is a personal choice...
