Name: shalini

my 2 yr old son was evaluated under early intervention program as his speech is delayed and he makes inconsistant eye contact. they found out there are some delay in congnitive ,language areas. He says 20-25 words only if he sees those objects, he has poor concentration as he is a very active little boy. His gross and fine motor skill are excellent, beyond the expectations. They want to start the therapy in all those ares where he is lagging...
Does anybody experience the same ? I' m really concerned...Please help me...

Does these therapy work ? Is there any chance that he will never talk ?? please help me....

Hi Shalini

As you said his gross and fine motor skill are excellent, beyond the expectations.
That' s really nice

So about the areas of concern ..the therapy will surely help him...Even I have seen in my son..

As you said he says 20-25 words...
Just wait and watch ,his vocabulary (number of words he is using) will increase...
But u need patience...in beginning ,you may find it difficult... but as it goes on .u and ur son will adjust with them.....

So as per yur child' s need they will provide you therapies....
If they found more concern ,they will surely tell you to see Developmental Pedaitric or so..

Hope this help..

Ashwini

Also, he doesn't understand slightly longer sentences, even when we speak slowly and enact it such as "we'll go out after we eat". Otherwise, he appears perfectly normal. My son is less than 4 and has been diagnosed to be on the autism spectrum. He is non-verbal. We are taking him for OT and ABA/speech therapy.

Meanwhile, I read about an Ayurvedic hospital called Kerala Samajam hospital in Shoranur. Has anyone gone there for treatment? Any reviews?

Hints for Nursing
Babies eat and eat and eat. Although nature has done a pretty good job of providing you and your baby with the right equipment, in the beginning it's almost guaranteed to be harder than you expected. From sore nipples to tough latch-ons, nursing can seem overwhelming.
