Hi Pranjal,
I just wanted to share with you my experience...Like you my cervix had also dialeted only 2 cms and the baby was pretty high in the abdomen till my due date Nov 10th. At the time of my last appt before my due date my doctor had very clearly indicated that she was in favor of inducing labor rather than waiting for an additional week. I let the decision rest with her and so I was admitted on 9th night. Instead of starting on Petocin right away, she inserted Cervicid into my vagina to ripen the cervix gradually at 8 pm on 9th. Within two hrs.I started experiencing mild contractions (which were being monitered on a graph along with the baby's hearbeat. My Doctor had initially planned to then give me petocin at arnd 7:30 am on 10th but by 1:30 am my contractions became stronger and so she decided to give me petocin and epidural then. By 4:30 I was in the active labor stage and 6:30 am my cute little baby boy was brought into the world.
The doctor had to perform an episiotomy on me as the baby was moving too much and it was being difficult to monitor his hearbeat. Consequently I did receive some stitches but my recovery has been pretty smooth. Infact it is more than a week now since the delivery and I am already moving around freely with no pain.
Well to cut the story short....the complete process of induction and delivery was good and on a scale of 1 to 10 I wd rate my overall discomfort and pain as 2 or 3.
