Hi all,

We are thinking of planning for our child.We also have a plan to visit India (from US) sometime in December-January.Is it safe to do long hours travel by air during pregnanacy? or should I wait till I come back from vacation?

Hi there,

Even I have the same question in my mind- whether it is safe to travel for so many hours in the first trimester?

In my opinion, if you havn't conceived yet, then better avoid pregnancy till you come back. Dec-Jan are not very far...2-3 months here and there don't make a huge difference. If you conceive now and then travel to India, you will have to take a lot of precautions...you will have to take care of every little thing- right from food, water, hygiene...you will have to make sure to take proper rest and not to exert yourself too much...so, my advise would be to have fun & enjoy your time in India. After you are back, you can start your family :-).
