Shy Kids:Does not say anything in Playschool
2009-04-28
Name: Anirban Mukherjee

I am father of a peculiarly shy 2 yr 9 month old child. In home he says all kinds of words and few sentences but in school he does not say anything. He does not mix up with any child in his age group. He is not afraid of them but likes to stay alone and play alone. Even in home he does not express himself properly like \" I want to eat play etc.\" He only says the work corresponding to his want. But he knows all 26 letters of English and can recite a few nursery rhymes in full. He can recognize and describe all objects, animal, fruits vegetables etc. But in school he will stop talking. What we have discovered is that if he is alone (w/o me or my wife) he stops talking. In fact myself and my wife both are little introvert in nature and we are a nuclear family. We tried to mix him with other children of our building but he does not like them. What do we do?

RE:Shyness right or wrong?
According to me you should take your child to a counselor and ask her what is the exact problem as this is not common and you should get into it as soon as possible and understand the real reason behind the same, please do not ignore this its a request.... - Anaida [View Message]
RE:Shyness right or wrong?
Hello dear this is really nothing to worry as its very common and you should not take this matter as a big concern as kids at this age are normally shy and they do not like meeting new people infact they want only their friends and all with them.... - Anita [View Message]
