Hi! My son is better but still having nasal congestion,hoping him to be fine in next 1 or 2 days. As my first son was in the hospital for first 3 months and I have to do evrything myself ,I have some queries

1. How do u give bath to baby? Is head bath everyday required?? I am giving just sponge bath since 2-3 days because of cold.

2.Do u cover baby with cap whole day? And what about wrapping??

3.How many mints do u hold her after each feed for burping? Does she burp everytime?

And lastly have u fully recovered from the pain? Taking any massage or doing any exercise? Is itnecessary to take rest or can do routine household work?

And one tip from me , breastfeed mom should drink minimum 10 glasses of water everyday.

Thanks for the reply. My obstract. told me to start some abdominal exercise after 10 days,and for that I am meeting her tom.

My son too feeds for 10 mints at 2 or 3 hrs interval.Or sometimes even 4 hrs .Accordingly he feeds more or less.

If ur daughter is feeding at regular interval and putting on wt. what is the reason u think she is not nursing enough??

I am taking Satavrex (Aurvedic powder) with milk to increase my breast feeding. Its really working for me. Even during my first pregnancy it helped. I do not know its available there in US or not ??

1. My mom gives sponge bath to her 2 or 3 times a week. Her cord has fallen but her naval is not dry yet. May be after a month I will give her regular bath. Head bath is not required everytime. We gave her headbath on her 11th day(as a part of bindi/cradle ceremony). Will check with my mom n update u for next head bath.

2. I hv her cap on all the time except while feeding. We keep 72 deg F at home, thatz y. If u find her head hot/warm enough then u can try without it. Since ur son was in the hospital and this is winter n he has cold, better put a cotton cap on him.

3. I hold her in sitting position and gently pat or run my hands on her back for 5 minutes before I lay her on her back. She spits milk or throws out sometimes if I don't burp her. She doesn't burp everytime but most of the time she does.

I think I hv recovered from 90% of the pain of my stiches. I'm not taking any massage or doing any exercise. I hv a 2 level house and can't avoid climbing up and down the stairs the whole day. Other than that no household work or anything yet. I do our laundry at home and take care of baby thatz all. I think we should wait for a month to start on any mild exercise. U can check with ur obgyn before u start anything.

How is ur breastfeeding going on? Shalu nurses for 10 to 15 minutes in every 3 hrs. Pedi says her weight gain in 2 weeks is fine. I feel she is not nursing enough.
