Due Date Club July 2005:Whole milk?

Hi all

Im just wondering when can we start whole milk. Half of the july babies are 11 months old. Most of my friends started whole milk when their baies completed 11 months so that by end of 12th month babies can be fully on whole milk. I dont no how im gonna wean. coz Trisha use to sleep only when i breastfed. Its going to be a major milestone for both of us :-)

Im thinking to start whole milk in couple of days. I have a uqestion, do u guys perfer organic whole milk or the normal one which we buy for us?

Another thing is, how do u give veggies? i read in pervios posts like giving brocoli. do u boil along with dal and mash it or how?? i never tried brocoli even for us. can u share some receipes for adults too :-)

so far i give veggies like sweet potato, carrot, mashed potato with cheese, boiling 4-5 beans, spinach along with dal. other than this can u guys share some yummy veggie receipes for babies??

Anitha, i remember that u give rice+apple puree. do u add salt or sugar in it??

ok then
takecare
love to all babies

hi Sheetal, preeti, Anitha and Bhairavi

thx for sharing ur info.

Sheetal, i will try brocoli receipe this week end and let u know the result.

Bharavi, stir fry tofu- is the tofu fulled boiled? coz i use to put some tofu peices in kurumas that we make for chapati, then wash the tofu pices so that there will be some mild masalas in it. Trisha likes it much that way. i havent tried stri fried tofu.

Anitha, i will try fruits with rice. Apricots too i havent tried. in rice varities Trisha use to eat dal rice, spinach rice, curd rice. then idly, dosa, upma, mostly everything she will eat. last week i introduced fish, wow she liked it soo much.

Hi Sheeja,

I make brocolli-potatoes. I sautee the onions, garlic, and some cashews. Add brocolli florets and diced potatoes with water and let it boil. When done, add tomato paste and the regular masala, mirchi, haldi, dhania powder, salt, sugar and lemon juice. I really like this thing.

Regards,
Sheetal

Sheeja

I hve stopped apple puree for laya as she is able to chew well n eat.

Now what i do is
I take 2 vessels ..n in one it will be rice moong dal vegetables..so far i hve been using potato, carrot, beans spinch n onion and from last 2 days hve beend adding soft tofu. with little salt. with enough water and pressure cook for 5 whistles so it bcomes soft n u dont hve to mash it..

in second vessel i put fruits 1 apple if it is small and if its big i use half apple, half pears 1 apricot n some baby carrots n without adding any water steam it..

i put these 2 vessels at same time n pressure cook. n when feeding laya i add steamed fruits to her rice..and feed her.. she has been eating this way without any fuss so far..

I am yet to try brocolli, cabbage, cauliflower..

Hey what abt beetroot can we give the babies??

Hi Anitha,

I give my baby tomato-spinach-beetroot soup daily. She likes it and its also very nutritious. With this soup, I give her some boiled veggies (like cauliflower, brocolli, lauki etc..) with minimal seasonings, and she loves it as a snack. Sometimes, I skip the veggies, and instead give tofu stir fried in ghee and salt with soup.

Regards,
Bhairavi.

Breast pumps
I am using a medela pump to feed my baby when I am out. The medela breast pumps are really a good choice for the working moms. We can pump the milk regularly and can store it and use whenever needed.... - dalewhither [View Message]
evenflo elan breast pump
Buy this pump! It’s made my life so much easier. I always got sore with my old Medela Advanced, but that never happens with the Ameda Purely Yours Breast Pump. What really makes a difference is its ease of use. It’s really easy to switch between pumping phases and take apart to clean. Strongly recommend it for all mothers that pump daily.... - stellatylor [View Message]

try this
As we discussed earlier in this forum I used magnetic alphabets , through which he has learnt alphabets within a week. And number within 4 days.
It is as like take the letter and stick to it where ever he goes more and ask him to search a particular letter. this worked very well for me.
all the best... - Manju [View Message]
