Hi everybody..
Happy to hear everyone doing fine from the messages..Has anyone gone thru the formalities of inviting our parents here on visitors visa? Have heard if u get the visa u have to travel withing 6 months even if they do get 10 yr. visitor visa. I have seen many parents rejected in Bombay embassy, since my own parents passed away, I do need my ma-in-law here and she is also so excited to be here...if anyone has gone thru the formalites ,could u give us some tips?
I have heard they should not say they are coming to US for delivery of grandchild..read that on website...if any other cautions to be taken in sending papers/interview for visa...do let us know.. Wish my mom was here(pregnant females do need moms more than anyone these days..) , then would ask both to try and chances of one of the moms being here would be lot more..
Anyway, if anyone does have any tips..to ease up her visa process do let me know..
Thanks. All the best.Keep smiling ..
Radhika

Hi Radhika,

Two weeks back I sent all my papers to my parents to get visiting visa. I heard, if they can prove that they will come back to India after 6 months then they will get the visa. They should show their propery or job information or about their younger children studying in India. In that case Ambessy will have confidence that your parents will come back to India after visiting US.

One other thing is that you need to write a letter to consulate explaining them that you will take care all their expenses(food, stay and travel) and you will defenitely send them back before the expiration of authorized stay.

I know only those. Please do let me know if you find anything new.

I hope and I wish and I pray god that your Mother in law and my parents will get visitor visa with out any problems.

Anu.

Thanks anu for the info...have been asking everyone whose parents have travelled here, one caution everyone gives is they should not tell they are coming for the delivery, just say they are coming to travel/visit the place.
got a lot of info. at www[.]path2usa(.c o m) (/) visitor [. h t m]. The forum of personal experiences also helps..will let u know if i get more info..
Take care...hope everything goes smoothly for u too..all the best
