here again with one more confusion.i went to consult a local fertility specialist and he did my scanning n said that i have PCOS, he showed me also 4-5 black follicls(my 2nd day pf period). He prescribed me Glcopage tablet(its diabetic medicine) for PCOS for 3 months n told me to go for ivf in july/aug. In india first Dr.s put me under Unexplained and recently new Dr. said i have slightly higer immunophic. This PCOS is new thing, when i went to this Dr. before also he suggested that i have features of PCOS but when i consulted Dr in india they flatly denied. my Periods are verymuch regular,infact on time. i' m not at all obessy infact very slim but i have hairgrowth on arms n leggs. In india i went for ivf' s and they just concentred on it never did much investigations. Now my local Doc is saying it may be the cause of failure of ivf' s because PCOS so i have to get treatment for it. so guys now i' m confused. can you plz help me in this regard.

I too have PCOS. From what I understand, PCOS is diagnosed by a series of blood tests in addition to the ultrasoung scan. The ultrasound scan can be carried out either vaginal or abdominal. Also, Glucophage is only prescibed for PCOS women who have Insulin Resistance. If you are thin, you may not have Insulin Resistance. I would get a second opinion.Good luck with your treatment.

Hi Mk, Thanks for the reply and sharing your experience with me.Doc did my vignal scanning, and before in inida also all my Doc did V.scanning but never mentioned anything.This Doc prescribed me metaformin(glucopage).all the best for your treatment. take care.
