My son is 18 months old. Current weight is 12 kg. When he was 5 months old i introduced him to food. But he used to vomit every time his food was less watery/loose. And when he vomitted everything used to come out. Initially i thought my feeding style was not correct but gradually i realised he had difficulty swallowing chunkier or thick food. He can eat only pureed foods. I consulted many doctors about but they ruled out GERD as my son had a good weight. Nowadays he has almost stopped vomitting on pureed food (of cerelac consistency) but he vomits if u try to give him solid food , biscuits , chips , anything not pureed in mixie. He wants to have finger food like adults, he even bites biscuit, but don' t know how to swallow and vomits it out whatever he had previously also. So i am afraid to give him anything solid. He is very active otherwise and he has achieved other mile stones also in time.
The problem is he can neither swallow chunks nor he chews them. So at the end its puree only. He also has four molars but he does not chew at all. Is there anything be done for his problem. Please advice.

Hey I think he has gotten into the habit of eating soft/pureed food from a very early stage i have had many of my friends telling me not to give my son (who is also 18 months)soft/grinded food because they get used to it and refuse to take anything else.Its easier for kids to swallow aoft food and suddenly when they are given whole food like bis etc they would not know what to do with it and hence vomit.I suggest you give him food the way he likes it and may be when he is a little older u can slowly change the routine.I never gave my son pureed food though he is a very very very fussy eater.Though my inlaws kept insisting i never gave in.Now i soften the food with my hand and give him.Though he doesnt eat a lot.I give him whatever he takes in happily.So dont worry about it give u child what he wants,he is a healthy baby.
