Iam a working mother of a five year old in UKG. I am torn between working and giving it my besta dn being there at home with my daughter. I have a caretaker at home but am not happy about my kid being alone in the house, no extra curricular activities at all.

I have now come up with an idea of starting an \" After School care\" for kids aged 4 - 8 years, where dance, music, yoga, arts and crafts, painting etc,., will be part of the activities taught and also snacks will be providd. Timings between: 1 pm to 6 pm. Am planning on having retd school teachers to come in and work and also ensure the children complete their HW and the only thing the parents when they come to pick up their kids will need to di is go home and have funwith their kids! How is theidea? Will it work? For me, i would love to put my kid at a place like that where i know a person like myself is taking care of my kid. Valuable feeback/ suggestions/ ideas most welcome.

your idea is ggod..where are you going to start in chennai? bcoz i am also working women..i need best creche in chenai..my son is one year old..its convinient for you to take care of the baby in day time. please let me know..its very good idea for starting creches..bcoz so many mothers suufering without support.

Hi..where are you planning to start? there are some after care centres in Blore and you need to first study them and see what they lack that you would like to incorporate. I am not sure about having retired school teachers, the methodologies and approaches have changed in recent times.

Thanks for the input. Planning on starting it in chennai. I have to an extent done a study and also researched using questionnaires of potential parents with children. The idea is to have qualified resources to help the children complete their HW rather than have aayahs take care. It needs to be a fun place rather than just a creche.
