Hi! all..
How r things...at my end, Saachi is quite a handful...wants to creep, smiles, sleeps sooolittle..breastfeeeding is going well..but I still have sore nipples..actually, I have too much milk and it comes down too fast..she gets startled and tries to pull away and comes back...i guess that's why I have sore nipples..she ends up ingesting some lood from them(supposed tobe ok acc. to doc)..I do apply lanolin ointment..
Is anyone in the same boat as me..any advice...what do I do..it raelly hurts a lot!
Take care of urselves and ur babies and hubbies!!!

hi Bhavna,

I am from nov. board. my daughter is 10 weeks now. I do have the same problem but only in one breast where the milk lets down (term used when the milk flows down ... without even baby sucking and it happens a few times during a session whether u notice or not) too fast and my daughter gags on it. For me what helps is when she gags of course! she turns away at that time I keep a clean cloth (may be a washcloth) handy and take the milk in that which is just flowing out. It is a few seconds thing and u can offer ur baby the breast again when flow stops.

Also, if u are having too much milk try not to express milk as by expressing u are telling the breast to produce more. Its inconvenient for a few days but will help in establishing ur milk supply.

Hope this helps ...

hi bhavna i was reading somewhere that expressing some milk with hand or pump would help if the supply is more. & continue with the cream. i too had sore/bleeding nipples the first few weeks. also using breast pads helps. they avoid friction .i know it really hurts. i sometimes used an air dryer on lowest setting & from enough distance to dry nipples when i dint have too much time.
hope u feel better soon
luv

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

hi
So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
