I have a daughter who is 4.5 years old. My husband has the problem of depression. We are married for 7 years. During first 5 years he never had this attack, but now from past 2 years he has had the depression attack 3-4 times. During this period he has too take pills whick keeps him sleep for 11-12 hrs. There is hardly any romantic life left. Once he has an attack it last for 2-3 mnths.
I am in favour of two children but seeing my circumstances I just dont know whether I should go for it or not. I am not a patient mother. Upbringing of my daughter wont be possible without my Husband' s help. And now this time I cannot look for his help also as sleeplessness aggravates Depression. I am badly confused. He along with my inlaws want another child. But my mental status doesnt permit upbringing of second child. I think that would ffect the upbringing of my daughter. But when I think about her future I think a sibling is must. Am I becoming tooo selfish. Plz help. SB replied. If bringing up another child is something that is not possible, then I' d suggest that you do not try for a second child. Bringing a child into an environment in which he/she cannot be properly cared for would surely affect the mental state of both the children and could probably push you as well into depression.
From what I can see, the only argument you have that you should have a 2nd child is so that you daughter can have a sibling. Trust me when I say that a sibling is not necessary at all. All that your daughter requires is love from your family and social interaction. By social interaction I mean that the child should have contact with other children from the neighbourhood, school, etc. This provides the child with the social skills that are normally provided by a sibling. Furthermore, if you have a large extended family, send your daughter for a few days to her cousins' place or invite them over.
As for you being selfish, I don' t think that not having a second child is being selfish. Your reasons are genuine and on the whole I see having a second child as more problems for your family and the child that will be brought into the world. paramaguru replied. any one one child is enough for pu r country situation but for ur wish no one can offorce it so ,their no connection between sex and depression ok .please try with husband an have your second soon ok dont worry
