Hi all,
thanks for the input u all giving . Somehow I'm more reliable on this forum than any others suggestions. So please continue this
Today the question is abt myself.
I had episiotomy which led to few stitches. I want to know how much time it'll take to heal and also I'm feeling perineal discomfort still. Is it because stitches are not healed or is it common ?
How much time it'll take ?
I think some of you already had 6weeks checkup with gync so thinking u girls might help.
Vara thanks for giving suggestions in Dec board . Please keep on doing this.
thanks & good luck

Hi sushmitha
I was reading this board message and seen urs...and realised my time that even i myself faced this problem for a long.I'm from Oct board

I had a long cut and teared off too due forcep delievery. Well by 6th 7th week they were healed enough to get away from ur mind round the clock in my 6th week appnt doc checked it and they were dried and healed xternally..internally it cld take a week more.
then i had pressure like pain may be bcoz of getting the vagina in shape back no pain in stiches but somekind of strech pain around vagina muscles today i have completed 3 months postpartum and since last 2 3 weeks thr is no pain no pressure. I was doing yoga in between whenever got time try that. at this site only go in health section and then yoga thr u will find postpartum yoga exercise which r helpful

Gud luck PP

Hi Susmitha, even I had the same problem. For my first delivery it was a side cut so it healed soon. Now its a downward cut and I still feel discomfort.

I checked this with Archie. Her reply is :

by this time your stitches should be completely healed. It should not pose problem for your sexual life. To get vaginal path as tight prior to episiotomy may vary from cut to cut and how it healed. The discomfort will go away once you get used to it. Try to keep watch that it does not pain indeed or bleed from stitch area while intercourse. If worried give a call to your OB and get it confirmed and assured that intercourse should not be a problem.

-x-

so if the pain is severe its better to get this to ur Dr's concern.

goodluck

Very good doctor
Hi,

I delived a baby boy in March 2009. I consulted Dr.Chitra Ramamurthy during my pregnancy cycle. She' s one of the best doctors in Bangalore. Not many people know about her. She handled the entire process in a very professional manner. I used to visit her clinic in Jayanagar 3rd block. She is very caring and affable. She says what to do and what not to do. ... - Sandhya Rao [View Message]

So long as your baby is feeding, that' s all that really matters. These days, formulas are packed with everything the baby needs, and although it is never as good as breast milk, it' s perfectly fine. It sounds like maybe what you are missing is the bonding that breast feeding provides? My first child had both breast and bottle milk for the first 6 months, when I had a mis... - Jhumri [View Message]
