Hi
My 6 month old daughter has 4-5 nodes behind her ears,I checked with the doc. twice they said it is lymp nodes and its quite common in babies. BUT now it seems that the size of the node has increased I AM TOO MUCH WORRIED.My ques is, Is it really common? and how long does it takes to go away?

My son is 26 months old. And he just developed a node behind his right ear. Took him to the doc, he said that the node has formed in reaction to an infection or an insect bite that may have taken place earlier. The infection or venom (insect) gets absorbed by the Lymph nodes which causes the swelling.

Asked me to observe for 5 days. However, if the size increases or it doesn' t subside in 5 days, then a course of antibiotics will have to be given to deal with the infection.

I don' t think that it' s ok if the size of her nodes increases. Are you sure it has increased? If it has, then take her back to the doc and tell him that it has grown in size. If he doesn' t prescribe anything, then consult another pediatrician.
