Due Date Club April 2004: low lying placenta?

I am not an active member of the group but I used to read many of your messages. Please advice me if any of you was detected with a low lying placenta? I am in my 3rd month and is adviced by my doctor not to have intercose and take rest as I had a very slight bleeding. Please let me know if any of you know more about this.

Im not in US im in India and I had absolutely no spotting /bleeding, infact i have a very normal pregnance...The dr told me thats theres a slight slip of placenta and Im worried aboit that...today Im going to the doc for check up again ..Im planning to do another sonography to find out the current status...Im worried too..But relax take care..everything will be fine for all of us..

Dont worry everything will be fine. Take care and let me know how your appointment went.

About spotting I did had once or twice a day of light spotting for 2-3 days but my doctor couldnt detect it in the 2 check up's I had during that time. But things are normal now as I took 2 weeks leave from work and is taking plently of rest and drinking lots of fluid.

Thanks a lot for your comments. I was really worried when I started getting spotting now as till then I was lucky with not many problems. My 10th week onwards I have started getting spottings & very bad headaches also. I am planning to meet my doc again today. Hope everything will be fine. Please pray for me.

My dictor also told me that i have slight low lying placenta...no intercourse thats it..thats the only solution nothing else...but Ive heard from the doc that it usuallly travels up slowly not to worry...its normal..

Are you in US? dont mind me asking which week are you now? did u had any spotting or bleeding before your doc detected a low lying placenta? When I saw my doc yesterday he told me headaches are normal in this time of preg and as you said there is nothing to worry about the low lying placenta now as it most probably will move up by the 20th week. But I am taking all the rest like Radhi said just to be on the safe side.

hi,
im from the dec board. i also had spotting from the 5th week till arnd 16 weeks and then 2 days of heavy bleeding in the 12th week. but luckily all was fine n now im in my 31st week.i was on bedrest for the 1st 16 weeks and intercourse has been prohibited throughout the pregcy period. but docs cudnt find out why the bleeding happened. U/S showed that placenta was fine............ all i can tell u is be careful as its really worth it. and with an able gynaec u will be safe even with a low lying placenta.
